When to fight?

Image result for conflict management This is not a new model for conflict resolution. However this is something I frequently refer whenever I am not sure what to be done in a conflict resolution.  Purpose of this article is not to talk about the different ways we do conflict resolution but to talk a little about how this helps in our quality engineering life.

There are two drivers in this model. The issue itself and the relationship. We need to leave the ego aside for a little bit :).

We agree that it is vital to retain healthy relationships with our business stakeholders which in a way helps testing too. Therefore it is important to understand when to compromise the relationship and when not to. We must confront/compete when required but in the meantime we need to analyze whether it is something worth to do. Sometime we rather rest in accommodating the situation. This is very subjective to the situation to situation. Therefore this is not an universal model for all the problems we have yet it gives a good model to think in a structured way to solve a problem.

This is what make me love agile a lot. Agile takes everything very seriously while enriching the relationships not only within the team but also outside the team too. Therefore it focuses on the collaborative arena where all are happy while taking things very seriously.
